SIS'S MAY FAVORITES

May is a busy month, isn't it?! Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day and Memorial Day. And one of these years, I swear, I will actually celebrate May Day. So there's a lot of celebrating to accomplish this month. With all of that in mind, here are my May favorites!

SPRING COCKTAIL: THE PUCKERBERRY FINN

I created this cocktail for our recent Spring dinner party. There is something about muddled blackberries and fresh, sour lemon juice that is super delicious and refreshing. It's the perfect spring cocktail, if I do say so myself! I have also become a big fan of gin lately -- particularly small batch, organic ones, like Peak Spirits' CapRock. It has a really lovely flavor. The splash of elderflower liquor adds a really nice fruity and flowery sweetness to tie it all together.

Huge thank you to Borrowed Blu for the gorgeous crystal cut and milk glasses and Jenna Elliott of One Eleven Photography for the stunning photographs.

We were thrilled to have this recipe featured on Domaine Home a few weeks ago. In case you missed it, here it is!

5 Blackberries

1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

1 oz. Simple Syrup

1+1/2 oz. Gin

1/2 oz. Elderflower Liquor

Ice

---

In a cocktail shaker, muddle blackberries. Add lemon juice, simple syrup, gin and elderflower liquor. add several ice cubes and shake vigorously. Pour through a strainer and garnish with an edible flower or blackberries (I froze mine to give them an extra special look). Enjoy!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY RAINBOW FEATHER CROWN DIY

I loved this St. Patrick's Day rainbow feather crown from last year so much I thought I'd share it with you again!

Obsessed with feather crowns over here! So why not make one for St. Patrick's Day? This DIY is pretty fast and easy but still packs a colorful punch.

Here's what you'll need: colored feathers, gold headband, gems, hot glue gun, scissors. To start, choose your feathers in a rainbow of your liking:

Trim the stems so that all the feathers are close to the same length:

Turn the headband inside out and glue the feathers with a hot glue gun to the inner middle of the band:

Choose your gems:

Turn headband right side out. Place gems below the headband to make sure you like the configuration first. Then glue them on band with hot glue gun:

And you're done! Now you can go chasing leprechauns and pots of gold.
