May is such a fun month for our family! Brixton & his dad have the same birthday -- May 20th! With Mother's Day in the mix, each of us gets to be celebrated in this glorious, late spring month. Here's what I'm eying right now -- for Mother's Day and beyond. ;)

Perennial favorite, HEATH CERAMICS, recently released their gorgeous handmade pieces in this new juicy orange hue, just in time for the coming sunny season. I thought it looked especially great on this single stem vase and would make a great Mother's Day gift.

Since Brixton is turning 3 this month, I'm in the process of converting his nursery to a little boy's room. My number one design item for a kid's room is wallpaper. It's an instant room-transformer and I just love what it does to a space! I recently found this adorable Explorer Kids World Map Wallpaper on Pinterest.

We recently designed a pre-Mother's Day Cocktails & Crafting Party for some of our fellows moms who deserved a little girl time! For the event, we collaborated with MAKERS MESS and made the prettiest seed bead bracelets, with secret Morse Code designs. Their genius bracelet-making kit is perfect for a night in with girlfriends, over a glass (or several bottles) of wine and good conversation. 

Cabo is my jam. Overlooking the stunning Sea of Cortez Auberge Resort's Esperanza just underwent a complete, head-to-toe, renovation and it's looking beyond heavenly. Couldn't think of a better Mother's Day gift. Ahem!

If I can't have Cabo, I'll take this Unicorn floaty via Get Floaty in my pool! And maybe a fresh cocktail to go with. 

At the end of the day, I just want to cozy up on the couch with my family. Might as well cuddle in style with this gorgeous Aldalora throw from Anthropologie.

Let's be honest though... For a day to really be perfect it needs to end with something amazingly delicious, and preferably chocolate. I might need to whip up Martha Stewart's Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake. In the name of Mother's Day!!

BUSINESS GIFT PICKS FROM PRODUCER, PAIGE DORIAN

Wait! Did you forget client gifts?!? It's important to show the ones who give us business and ultimately contribute to our livelihood, that we really appreciate them!! So we thought we'd ask the ultimate business woman herself, one of our BFF's and super producer, Paige Dorian, to share her top client gift picks with us! I spend all year working with a variety of photographers, agents and creatives. 

I want the gift I send at the holidays to let them know how much I appreciate them, and also be something they might not get themselves. Throughout the year I keep my ears open to things they say in casual conversation, and try to incorporate their likes and style into the gift. Here are a few things I’ve gifted that have been a real hit. 

Tracee Nichols Jewelry -- Tracee’s “Roman" design is SO beautiful. You can combine gold, silver or bronze with a variety of stones. This design is also available as a bracelet or ring. The Roman symbolizes courage and strength. A perfect gift for the strong woman on your list.

Nespresso Machine -- I’ve gifted the Nespresso machine many times. Clients love these and put these in their offices (I have one in mine!). There is nothing better than being able to pop one of these pods in and have an espresso in minutes, and it’s beyond easy. George Clooney is in their ads, so how can you go wrong?

Poloroid Cube -- This lifestyle action camera can mount on a bike, attach to a keychain, or simply be held in your hand. It’s tiny and amazing. Perfect for creative people who want to be filming and capturing moments. It comes in a few different colors and everyone I’ve sent these to loves them. 

S’Well Bottles -- Probably the most stylish, and at the same time practical gift. I love these reusable bottles and everyone I have given them to does also. S'well bottles are beautifully crafted composed of non-leaching and non-toxic 18/8 stainless steel, that keeps your drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12. I’ve given these to a ton of clients and they are so happy. They have a million colors and finishes too so there is an option for anyone. 

Makers Mess -- For people in the Los Angeles area, my new obsession is Makers Mess. This studio offers art classes for adults (and kids) that are unique and so much fun. I always think that gifting someone with an experience is the best thing you can do, and that way you are giving them something they might not get for themselves. You can do gift certificates here and present it with a calendar of all the upcoming options. 

Anker Charger -- This little charger is sleek and compact and with as much as we are all on our phones these days, we need to be ready to charge them up at a moment’s notice. I love this one. I have two charged and ready at all times!

ERIC MATHENEY'S HOLIDAY GIFT PICKS FOR GUYS

We've been doing all kinds of gift searching here at Twink + Sis, but today is dedicated to just the guys! Actor, screenwriter, and co-founder of The Acting Center LA, Eric Matheny, is one of the most stylish men I know (you should see his house!) so I asked him to share some of his top gift picks for the holiday season. I feel like hats have gotten out of control. Baseball caps work on game day but they now seem like bullshit every other time. And designer hats for men feel like they are destined to become a laughable footnote in fashion history - no offense Nick Fouquet. Is that the highest possible version of the "I don't care, but I work REALLY hard at it" hipster mentality wrapped up in a milliner's moniker? Okay I digress. The point is I feel like the simple, classic Irish wool snap caps might be the best choice for a casual hat for any man over the age of 17.

That's all you need. Pretty much everything here is correct. Even the things that you think are probably not correct, in a few short months you'll realize they were indeed correct and now you're bummed you didn't buy it. Shoes, bags, jackets, shirts, sweaters - whatever, it's all good.

So I used to think that Club Monaco was for old fat men on boats who worked on tanning their bellies and paid models to lay across their bow. And who knows, maybe it was. But something changed while I wasn't looking and now they are making some really good, comfortable and classic things. For example, I really like this simple flannel shirt. I got it in Navy and Ivory. It's soft, looks great and the color isn't that stupid navy color, but the good one.

Filmmaking is just getting more and more egalitarian. With these simple add-ons to your iPhone you can take those story ideas that flash through your mind and shoot them without needing a million dollar camera set-up. I mean, if Mark and Jay Duplass are doing it then I'm in. For Your Man: SHINOLA Ruwell 47mm Watch -- Made in Detroit, these watches are casual enough for daily wear but can also work with a suit. My husband requested the green one for Christmas this year... Still deciding if he's been naughty or nice. 

For MYSELF (always buy yourself a Christmas gift): Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Sheet Mask via Sephora -- The price is steep for one sheet mask, but trust me- this will change your life. A make up artist applied one of these to my face after a 5am set call one morning. Within 20 minutes, it visibly reduced puffiness and fine lines. I’ve been addicted ever since.
