TWINK'S FAVORITE SUMMER PARTY PINS

I loved Sissy's summer party pins in yesterday's post. For me, this month is all about enjoying amazing food, drinks and ambience with the people I love (but frankly, when is it not?). Here are the pins that inspire me to revel in this final month of summer.

Let's just go ahead and have dessert first. How gorgeous is this cherry and blueberry pie from Little Peanut Magazine?

Now we need an icy cold beverage. This beautiful Cherry Margarita from Rip And Tan looks perfectly refreshing.

Guacamole and chips are my quintessential summer foods. Let's try this recipe from one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Here's the recipe from Petty Cash Taqueria, via Los Angeles Magazine.

Time to get the grill going. Bobby Flay's Green Chile Cheeseburgers with homemade queso sauce look like they'd be a perfect fit at our party.

After those green chiles, cool your mouth down with these homemade firecracker popsicles from Freutcake. The kids will love them!

Happy 4th Everyone!! xx

MONTECITO'S THE HONOR BAR

Nothing makes me happier than a daycation to Montecito (Santa Barbara), and The Honor Bar (from Hillstone) is a favorite spot for lunch. It's a small setting with a small menu (which is always a good sign).

The Macho Salad (chicken, avocado, almonds, dates, goat cheese, corn) and Flat Iron Steak with Chimichurri. Toddler hand not included.

Some great chairs to lounge in while having something refreshing to drink.

Really a pleasant setting to get you into that daycation state of mind.

DINNER AT THE TASTING KITCHEN

It seems to me that Venice's Abbott Kinney is pretty much where it's at for restaurants these days. A few gal pals and I had a fun ladies' night out at Chef Casey Lane's The Tasting Kitchen. Featuring a daily changing "bill of fare," we tried a bunch of different dishes and drinks. Here's what went down.

Style is on point with the leather covered Eames chairs and the bare wood-top tables. Love the "indoor" trees.

Today's menu.

The frosted process coupe was a really nice touch, I gotta say.

Cheers, Ladies.

Warm housemate bread and butter is basically the best thing in the world.

Five cocktails for four ladies. That's about right.

Charcuterie platter. The fluffy empanadas were fun to stuff with meats and burrata.

Raddicchio Salad.

Pesce Crudo.

Muscles with Saffron Cream.

Tagliarini with Shrimp & Serrano, Roasted Lamb Leg and Creste di Gallo with Calabrian Sausage and Breadcrumbs

I think we tried almost every dessert.

Ice Cream is always king. Especially the house-made mint chip. Ladies night, every night? xx
