OUR FAVORITE FRIDAY NIGHT HAUNT: SOUTH BEVERLY GRILL

We first learned of the great Hillstone Group with R&D Kitchen in Santa Monica. You may have seen Sissy's recent post on The Honor Bar, Montecito. We are kind of obsessed. These guys just KNOW HOW TO MAKE A BURGER. I'm not sure if there's one I like better. Hillstone has mastered the art of adult and kid-friendly, upscale comfort food. And it turns out, that more often than not, Jason and I want to go to their Beverly Hills location - South Beverly Grill, on most Friday nights. It's upscale and beautiful inside but totally kid friendly. And did I mention that they make damn good burgers?! If you are looking for seriously good baby back ribs, they make some delicious ones too. South Beverly Grill also offers a special sushi menu that their other locations do not.

I love the moody decor. Yet it's a very family-friendly place.

Table for 1? You can pull up a stool and enjoy your meal at the pretty bar.

We love piling into a big red booth and "trapping" Brixton in. Hehe.

Sushi is made-to-order at their sushi bar.

Spicy Tuna Roll with jicama and fresh wasabi.

Thai Steak and Noodle Salad

Cheeseburger and Fries. Yes, please.

South Beverly Grill is located at:

122 South Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills

Happy Friday! xx

MONTECITO'S THE HONOR BAR

Nothing makes me happier than a daycation to Montecito (Santa Barbara), and The Honor Bar (from Hillstone) is a favorite spot for lunch. It's a small setting with a small menu (which is always a good sign).

The Macho Salad (chicken, avocado, almonds, dates, goat cheese, corn) and Flat Iron Steak with Chimichurri. Toddler hand not included.

Some great chairs to lounge in while having something refreshing to drink.

Really a pleasant setting to get you into that daycation state of mind.

THE FLOWER FIELDS

Unless I book a trip to Holland, The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are probably my best chance at seeing 70 million flowers. The floricultural attraction spans 50 acres of colorful hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean (about 2 hours south of Los Angeles).

The Flower Fields are only open a couple months every year (March 1 - May 10, 2015).

The main attraction is the massive sea of ranunculus.

About 125,000 visitors tour the ranunculus fields, to see brilliantly bright colors like sunset gold, pink and merlot.

Antique tractor ride for $5.

Lots of room for running.

The highlight for Mila was Santa's Playground, especially the great pink house.

Food within 15 minutes: In-N-Out Burger Carlsbad, Whole Foods Encinitas.
