BACK TO SCHOOL

Approaching Labor Day weekend, we truly know it's time for Back to School. As Mila heads into Pre-K and Brixton to Preschool, we thought we'd take a moment to capture our kids in a couple fun, mini scholar looks with pieces from The Children's Place, Gap, Zara, Thumbeline and J.Crew.

Brixton's first look: terry racer back tank, skinny jeans, sneakers.

Happy September!

We had so much fun at The ShopUp! Set at the beautiful Lombardi House, Babyccino Kids and Pop Productions put together a lovely event (with their incredible eye for detail) and gave our kids just what we would have wished for on a pretty Sunday afternoon. Including a little lounge time in the adorable Kalon Studios toddler bed (above).

Mila made a botanical card with Makers Mess.

And Brixton turned on the charm in the Red Anchor photo booth.

We can't wait for next year!

PLAYING DRESS UP WITH WOVENPLAY

Wovenplay is described as "creative couture for the everyday artist and adventurer." I love that. The New York-based company believes in old techniques, hand-crafted textiles and the natural qualities of materials; drawing on the past to create modern, sustainable, beautifully hand-crafted clothing and costumes for little ones. It's obvious that founder and designer Katherine Edmonds applies her background in art, textile design and traditional french dressmaking to every collection.

I view buying a piece from Wovenplay like investing in a piece of art. Here are some current favorites.

Lola Bluejay Sun/Swimsuit.

Fila Tutu.

Lion Cape.

Shooting Star Dress in lavender silver.

Pepe for Wovenplay Blue Star Sandals.

FALL INTO SHOPPING: THUMBELINE

I love summer -- the long days, spending time at the beach and eating ice cream. But I also long for some cold days, bundled up in a cozy sweater. We don't get many of those days in Southern California but I'm still doing my "due diligence" when it comes to cool weather dressing.

I've spent A LOT of time "researching" clothes for Mila and have found some stores I really love. One of them is Thumbeline, I've found great pieces from their thoughtfully curated collection of goodies. Here are some of my favorite fall items.
