SIS'S FAVORITE SUMMER PARTY PINS

Happy August! We're getting deep into summer here so if we're not going to be at the beach or in the pool, we may as well be gazing deeply into Pinterest, right? So on that note, here are some of my favorite summer party pins!

GOLDEN PINEAPPLE COSTUME

I'm obsessed with Studio DIY and her genius Halloween costumes. She's had some amazing ones this year -- my favorites include kiwimilkshakescactus, popcorn and today's gumball machine.

My first attempt at a Studio DIY costume for Mila was last year in the form of a pineapple. I followed the Pineapple Costume DIY and paired the green topper with a dress from American Apparel. I love that this costume can just go with anything yellow in the closet!

A year later and I'm still so in love with this pineapple costume situation! So I went for a gold version, using shiny gold card stock and a white plastic headband from Michaels. [A few notes: I glued the leaves together so they were gold on both sides. The shiny side of the paper wouldn't hold the glue/more leaves. Studio DIY calls for about 20 and I was only able to do about 5 so you're certainly getting a different look going this route.] Mila is wearing a Wovenplay suit and holding a brass pineapple from Borrowed BLU

P.S. Wanted to share this sweet photo of the kids taking a break at our Halloween table. Here's the "Sophisticated Halloween Dinner Party For People Who Hate Orange" on ELLE DECOR.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR GIRLS

Four words: birthday cake Halloween costume. This pink cuteness from A Subtle Revelry is so good, makes me wanna cry.

Lets just face it, Studio DIY comes up with the best Halloween costumes ever. I made this pineapple topper for Mila last year and paired it with a simple American Apparel dress.

This mini Anna Wintour from Oh Happy Day remains one of my all-time faves. Strike a pose, there's nothing to it, vogue...

This Bjork-inspired featured tutu swan dress from The Wishing Elephant stopped me in my tracks. I mean, NEED.

How much do you wanna cuddle this little ball of cotton candy from Style Me Pretty Living?

This Stella McCartney bonny winged number is what I call: buy a dress, call it a day.

PARTY TIME! EXCELLENT BALLOONS

We love parties! So I thought we'd dedicate today to party supplies, specifically balloons. There are so many incredible balloons now -- just one gets me in the party spirit. It makes sense that the queen of party crafting, Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day, now has an online party decor shop. I mean, dream come true, right? So lets start with some our favorites from OHD and move onto more great picks!
